About The BSSA
The Society's Objects Are...
Representation - To represent the interests of the South Australian Recreational and Micro Beekeepers’ sector in industry and government forums.
Legislation - To promote legislative compliance and industry best practices that govern, guide and protect the welfare of the honey bee industry.
Best Practice - To support Members to conduct their beekeeping activities in a socially responsible and sustainable manner.
Knowledge and Skills - To assist Members to develop their knowledge and skills as Beekeepers in line with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
Community Engagement - To promote awareness of the importance of honey bees, their welfare and understanding their behaviour to the broader beekeeping community and the public.
Research - To support scientific research relevant to beekeeping.
Member Services and Supplies - To support Members through group buying strategies of apicultural services and supplies.
