Resources To Borrow
The BSSA has equipment for loan to members.
Currently, this includes 3 extractors and 1 uncapping tray as well as a double strainer and uncapping tool and knife.
Members who borrow equipment are required to thoroughly clean it before returning it. Not just as a courtesy to the next user, but because of serious biosecurity issues.
Our extractors are high quality, Italian made, three frame manual extractors. Please contact the BSSA for details and to arrange to borrow any of the listed items for 1 week or longer depending on demand .
The BSSA also maintains a small specialised library collection which members can access at our monthly General meetings.
Books can be borrowed for one month then returned, at the next General meeting. Requests for books to be set aside to be picked up at the next meeting can be made by adding them to the cart in online shop which will generate an email to the Librarian
If you are unable to attend the next meeting to return a book, please contact the Librarian or email office@bees.org.au and arrange to drop off the book so it can be borrowed by others.
The library collection is organised into sections according to subjects:
- Books numbered 1-28 are about Bees
- Books numbered 29 -104 are about Beekeeping, and other related insects
- Books numbered 105-149 are about Bee health
- Books numbered 150 -169 are about Bee Products
