Field Days

If you want to come and try, and get hands-on experience in a hive, our field days are the way to go. All welcome!

Come and join us for a 2 hour session at the BSSA Apiary at Clovelly Park, and be guided through the process of doing a hive inspection by BSSA society experts in a friendly, relaxed environment.

We're happy to provide a beekeeping veil if you don't already have one, if you notify us when registering for the event. 

IMPORTANT: The field day will not proceed (according to the previous night's forecast) if:

• the forecast temperature is below 17 or over 30 degrees
• if it is raining

However we now have secured an onsite area that enables us to work out of the rain on related topics without the bees
