Courses comprise of a minimum of 8, and a maximum of 14 participants.

March 2012
Beekeeping for Beginners

Saturday and Sunday 9.30am-4.30pm, 24 and 25 March, 2 days x 6 hours, field trip Sunday (WEA Centre phone 8223 1979, http://www.wea-sa.com.au)


FIELD DAYS and TRIPS (Practical Beekeeping)

Glandore Community Garden
BSSA has hives at Glandore Community Garden, Malwa Street Glandore. Practical aspects of beekeeping will be demonstrated on a number of occassions during the year.
Saturday 10th March 2012 1pm-4pm - honey extraction - facilitator required
Sunday 15th April 2012 1pm-4pm - hive inspection - facilitator required
Saturday 12th May 2012 1pm-4pm - closing down for winter - Bob Beer
Sunday 12th August 2012 1pm-4pm - preparation for spring - Bob Beer
Saturday 13th October 2012 1pm-4pm - hive manipulation - facilitator required Sunday 11th November 2012 1pm-4pm - hive inspection - facilitator required

Lenswood/Forest Range
Kym Schultz - visit to honey extraction plant and bottling line - Saturday 24th March 11am. Stentiford Road, Forrest Range (off the Adelaide to Lobethal Road)

BBQ lunch from 1pm approx. BSSA to provide the sausages, members to bring a salad or desert to share. BSSA will need to provide tables.
